Learning about what does and doesn’t work online started as a hobby in the early ’90s. After writing and producing an album of music for the equestrian sport of dressage, (Music for Dresssage) I was told that the internet would be the place to market it to the world. The website I built began to sell CDs to people around the globe. The internet was new, but the potential of this amazing medium was undeniable. As the years went by, hard copy CDs gave way to online downloads. The Information Superhighway soon became referred to as just the “internet”. Search engines like Alta Vista, Lycos, WebCrawler, Hotbot and Excite gave way to Google and Bing. Early chat rooms morphed into the beginnings of the first social media sites like Six Degrees, Friendster, and MySpace.
Today the powerhouse players are Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, and LinkedIn. These are the social media giants you need to be on if you own a business or work in sales. Whatever line of work you are in and for whatever reason, you need to be a part of this unique phenomenon. I can help, including setup with simple, easy to understand instructions that will keep you up to date and relevant in today’s new world.
